Thank you, @HelloKitty1981, for thinking of creating this thread, what a great idea!
The day I realised the strengths in having a lived/living experience of mental health challenges was very empowering for me, it was like everything shifted and I could re-frame what I originally thought were flaws.
Firstly, I wouldn't be here if it weren't for my lived/living experience... I'm more kind and understanding now, both with myself and others and my confidence and self-esteem has improved. It's also given me more of a direction in life, knowing I want to work in the mental health and lived/living experience space.
Similar to what @MermaidHair and @Bon_courage have said, overall I am a better person for it and I wouldn't have it any other way.
