Re: Decluttering and home maintenance

Sounds like you guys doing well. My efforts today we're pretty good:
FOR CHARITY:
x2 garbage bags of clothes x2 boxes kitchen bits
X1 box of shoes
BIN NIGHT tonight so filled general waste bin with garden and she'd bits.
Sorted magazines and filing and & tossed a box-full which overflowed the recycle bin.
Even did the dishes 😇

Re: Decluttering and home maintenance

'onya @Former-Member

Were you able to cross any items off your list @Shaz51 ?

Re: Decluttering and home maintenance

A couple of jobs done today

-Two cupboards destined for the shed are now in situ ready to use.

- A few items have been packaged, ready for posting to a relative that can use them.

Needed to clear one of the cupboards and this meant relocating it's temporary contents into permanent spots.

Re: Decluttering and home maintenance

Kicked a few goals here also today. Quite pleased with what I achieved after a slow start and having to push myself to get started.

- replaced 1x tube on childs bike.

- deployed 2kg of rat bait. (100 g packs have been going in 2- 3 days) hoping this may reduce the nightly disco in the ceiling.

- reseated and replaced 2x tap washers.

- inflated tyres on boat trailer and battery on charge. (2/3 boys are pestering me about a boating expedition over school holidays... planing  to head out and feed some fish lol).

- boat cover dropped off at upholsterer for repairs.

- arranged a suitably  qualified friend to drop by some time next week and assist / advise on some boat maintenance / upgrades.

- deposited some items at charity store that have been residing in the back of my car after salvaging from a friends dump run.

😪😪😪

Tomorrow plan

- If not windy have some spraying of weeds to do.

- Extract boat from storage and start/ run + general safety check in preparation  for upcoming boat expedition.

- hopefully begin installing some security cameras that have been waiting for 12+ months. (Purchased a required tool to enable this earlier in the week.

- may surprise darling with starting an office clean up. (I have been stubbonly ignoring this task after she trashed everything in one of her meltdowns),

Re: Decluttering and home maintenance

Oh my goodness @Determined, you are sure on a roll. Wow! I'm so impressed. Moving house is a great way to declutter. This last two days I've taken two car loads to the TipShop and Charity... Amazing the difference it makes. The house is looking thinner, and the walls are starting to echo 😟 Its a sad emptiness I don't like. Maybe that's why I clutter it up. To fill the emptiness in my heart. Had the first prospective tenant inspection yesterday. Made me REALLY clear things. Tidy like I've been too lazy or slack to for so long. Even the dog is starting to look worried. Silly having so much stuff. Getting there 🙏

Re: Decluttering and home maintenance

Good luck with the moving @Former-Member

This time 2 years ago we were just starting that process. We ended up getting rid of to dump, charity and tip as much or more than we moved to our new house. We were in our last house for 18 years. I still have a lot of stuff in our shed that came with us that still needs sorting lol.

Re: Decluttering and home maintenance

Oh no 😲 just realised only 4 days 'till removalist. Guess it's time for EVERYTHING to go in boxes. Sorting takes time. Oh dear

Re: Decluttering and home maintenance

@Former-Member

Would any of these help?

Plenty of gentle encouragement to be had here when it comes to sorting your gear at the new digs 😁😁😁.
